                         NOT a GREAT SUMMER CAMP

Made a deep run in the Seniors 289 out of 5,900+. It was basically a min cash because I decided to re-buy. Also had a few other min cashes and took some really bad beats to knock me out of several tournaments including the Super Seniors and a Wed. WSOP weekly seniors. 

Overall I was pleased with my play and with just a little bit of luck would have done much better. Next year will be a maybe. Stay tuned.

                                         THE SENIORS

The WSOP Seniors tournament began at 10:00 this morning and I was one of about 5,900 who entered. I got knocked out the third level and decided to re-buy. Do NOT ask me why. Anyway at the end of the evening I bagged 80,200 with a restart tomorrow at 11:00. Average chip count is around 60K and there are about 1600 left. Min cash at around 850 so quite a ways to go yet. 

Finally had some playable hands and made the best of them most of the time. What really got me started was QQ on the button with an AQ7 rainbow flop. One player called the BigBlind and I raised. He called. He bet out on the turn and I just called when a 7 hit on the turn pairing the board and giving me a full house. He bet on the river and I shoved and he called doubling me up. Wish me good fortune tomorrow!!

                                          MIN CASH

Well perhaps my luck has taken a turn for the better. I min cashed the Golden Nugget $150 buy in for $240. First cash in 10 days. For those who don't know what a min cash is it is the lowest cash payout of the tournament. I survived an all in bet with 87s against KK with an eight on the turn and a seven on the river. 87 plays quite well against an over pair like AA,KK,QQ if you are short stacked. Any way that one hand helped get me into the $$. You should have seen the look the lady with KK gave me. Like how can you call all in with that garbage. I was a 4 to 1 dog. 

Tomorrow I will play the same tournament and Wednesday the WSOP has their weekly Seniors tournament that I think I will play in. Well stay tuned for my next blog which I hope will be even more positive.

                                         GOLDEN NUGGET

Played all day at the GN. Nothing good happened. Will try again today. Next summer camp report will be when I get in the $$$$. Hopefully today. Will start in the 11:00 AM Omaha 8.

                                            GOLIATH

I should have known better but the GOLIATH at Planet Hollywood was simply too tempting. 250K guaranteed for $250 buy in. Signing up for the noon tournament was easy. The good news is the tournament started on time. The bad news is the dealers are the worst in Vegas and I mean terrible. The GOLIATH has three flights starting at 12:00 PM, 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The 4:00 PM flight got pushed back to 5 and who knows about the 7 O'Clock.

Anyway I got knocked out of the noon about 3:00 and decided to rebuy. Starting chips were 20K and I finally caught some really nice hands like a flopped flush and straight and got paid off on both. Ran the 20K up to 65K before I went completely dead and my AJs ran into A10 with an A10 flop. By, by BadJoker. 

Had a great Italian dinner then jumped into the 7:00 at the Golden Nugget. Knocked out of that and won $90 playing Black Jack. Time for bed. Tomorrow the Golden Nugget 25K guarantee at 1:00 PM. Till tomorrow.

                                              THE BIG 50

It's exciting to play in a tournament that has a $500 entry fee, 24,000 players, $50,000 in starting chips and a guaranteed 1st place of 1 MILLION DOLLARS. I lasted 5 hours, was card dead almost the entire time and finally got it in with QQ only to run up against KK. 

Took LYFT back to the 4 Queens to get my new room only to find the wait for the elevator was 45 min due to a large group checking in and only one working elevator. Decided not to wait and went over to the Golden Nugget and jumped in their daily $150 buy in with a $25K guarantee. Knocked out before the $$$ but had a very good Dragon Roll at the RED SUSHI. Finally checked into my room and all was calm with the elevator. Supposed to fix the other one tomorrow. Check in tomorrow for more foolish talk.

                    W.S.O.P SUMMER CAMP BEGINS

I'm leaving on a jet plane don't know when I'll be back again. Jean drove me out to O'Hare in time to catch my $60 dollar flight on American that left at almost exactly it's 2:32 PM departure time. Arrived in Las Vegas about 4:00 PM PDT and took a cab to the 4 Queens my hotel of choice at $60 a night. It is located right next to the Golden Nugget where I will be playing quite a few tournaments. 

Settled in but they did not have a room with two beds (I will have a room mate for a few days) so I will have to move tomorrow to a two bed room. Took a LYFT over to the Rio (site of all the WSOP tournaments) and had a difficult time locating the "Fastrack" check in that wasn't so fast. Finally got my printouts and seat assignments for the D flight of the "BIG 50" (It is the 50th year anniversary of the WSOP), the Seniors and the Super Seniors. I will begin tomorrow at 10:00 AM in the Big 50. Seat assignment Pavilion Black, table 207, seat 1. If any of my friends or RealGrinders are around stop by and say hi. 

In my hotel room writing this blog, will read for awhile then get a good nights sleep hoping that tomorrow will be a long day.
